Mayan Ruins

Seeing the mayan ruins in the Yucatan Peninsula was a once in a lifetime experience. Not to mention the Chichén Itzá is one of the 7 new wonders of the world. With ruins that date back to 600 A.D. it gives you a feeling of being awestruck. We we lucky enough to have a personal guide who took us to the major archeological sites Chichén Itzá and the Cobá. Although the Cobá wasn’t as well preserved it was one of my favorite experiences because you rode bicycles through the forest to get to the ruins… A true adventure!

Playa Del Carmen!

Playa Del Carmen is an amazing city full of white sandy beaches, bottomless margaritas and shopping for miles. Also let’s not forget, bars with swings! Playa Del Carmen is the place you want to go if the “Vegas” appeal of Cancun doesn’t appeal to you. We stayed in the heart of 5th avenue where there is a plethora of restaurants and shops. Cozumel is also a quick ferry ride away if you are looking for an island feel and snorkeling adventures!

Hello Bangkok!

Its the last leg of our trip and we made it to Bangkok! This city is humongous and full of energy. We spent the first day settling into our hotel room on the 59th floor and exploring the city in tuk tuk’s. Bangkok is full of high rise “sky bars”, shopping and beautiful temples. We got to check out the swans in Lumphini Park, do some shopping in the Jim Thompson silk house and tour the VERY Grand Palace. Thailand and its culture have been so welcoming and inspiring. Its definitely a place I will be coming back to!

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Hands down one of the best experiences in my life was the day we spent at the Ran Tong Elephant Sanctuary. These amazing creatures are rescued by the facility from trekking camps, logging work and circus shows. The relationships they have with the staff was really beautiful to see, it was like they were all family. We had the privilege of hanging out with the “toddlers” in the morning which are elephants that are 3 or 4 years old and also got to see a baby that was just 2 months old. In the afternoon we spent the day with our 27 year old elephant Bodi who we got to ride bareback down to a river and give him a mud bath. When it was time to leave I got a little teary eyed because they are truly such majestic creatures with beautiful spirits. It was an honor to be able to spend the day with them!

Koh Samui, Thailand

Welcome to our villa in Koh Samui! This place is paradise in every sense of the word. With an infinity pool that leads your eyes into the turquoise ocean and blue skies galore, we definitely soaked up all of our time here in the sun! Although it is the second largest island next to Phuket, Koh Samui was definitely more relaxing and slow paced. Just what you think of when you think of beautiful Thailand scenery!
